Join ASME
Purpose:
Our purpose is to make students aware of recent developments in mechanical engineering while providing for professional education and employment networking opportunities.Requirements:
Must be an ME or MET Major.Benefits:
Free subscription to monthly ME magazine. Help with resumes, intern/co-op/job searches, and classes. Opportunities to meet engineers. Fun activities and design projects, and occasional tours to engineering workplaces.Freshmen undergraduates get one free year of membership. Regular student membership fee is $25 per year.
Adding ASME (or any other student organization) to your co-curricular transcript will also allow you to gain additional student housing credit in the new ODU lottery system.
How to Join:
1. Edit your ODU co-curricular transcript to add yourself to ASME's official roster. Click Create an Account to begin. Once you have created an account, choose "Student Organization Involvement" on the left, then click the link to "Join an Organization" at the bottom of the page. Select "American Society of Mechanical Engineers" in the drop-down menu, check the box to agree to ODU's policy on hazing, and then select "Join Organization." If you have any questions about this step, please contact us or contact the ODU Office of Student Activities and Leadership at (757) 683-3446.2. Fill out an ASME Student Membership Application. Complete all required fields. If you are a Freshman undergraduate student, choose "Free Limited Student Membership" as the Membership Type.
